Yep, you heard that right. We’re talking FASHION today!! 🙂

If you know me, you know I LOVE a good scarf/bandana/neck scarf/silk scarf/ I’m still not exactly sure what the correct term is but the point is I love ’em all!

And so my goal here today is to offer some good ole fashion inspiration on how to style my current favorite accessory!

You can wear it…

IN YOUR HAIR:

The possibilities here are truly endless! Try to have fun with hair scarves and experiment with what works best for you and your hair!

A basic pony

This is one of the most common ways I see gals sporting their scarves. It’s such an easy way to spice up any outfit! I literally wore this combo to class today and felt so casual and cute!

How to: There are two great options here, you can either tie your hair with a regular ponytail and then wrap the scarf around (as pictured above), or you can tie the scarf to your ponytail holder and just tie it on! You can make the pony as messy or tight as you want.

Half Up

This is another great, casual hairstyle that goes with anything! I love to do this one when I’m too lazy to do more than brush my hair, but I still want to wear it down and look like I kinda tried.

How to: I think we’ve all mastered our half up hairstyle, so just add your hair scarf using either of the methods above!

Headband

This one isn’t my favorite look on myself, but I’m sure there’s some gals out there that can ROCK this one!

How to: You can either tie it at the top or underneath your hair, both styles are super cute, just up to you on preference!

Messy Bun

I’m still working on mastering this one, but we love a good messy bun to throw up on lazy days, so I tried my best for this post.

How to: throw your hair up in however you best do a messy bun, and just wrap your scarf around (tip: I did mine a little looser to keep the bun from losing its shape!)

Braided

scarf: Madewell

I had to ask my friend Mikayla to help me with this one, a) because I totally stole it from her, she wears this look often and ROCKS IT everytime, and b) I think this one works better for my gals with long hair!

How to: part your hair into 3 sections like you would for a normal braid, adding both ends of your scarf to the 2 outside sections, and braid normally! OR you can also tie your hair in a ponytail and tie the scarf to it, then braid normally, still using the same method as above!

…ON YOUR NECK!

This is probably the most traditional way you see scarves worn, and its perfect for when you want that classic, timeless look.

A pop of color

Neck scarves are perfect for adding some fun to those basic closet staples in your closet. Wear a printed scarf with a solid colored shirt and jeans and BAM, an instant insta-worthy outfit!

Mix with prints

If you know me, you know I love to mix prints. I just think it makes an outfit so much more unique and vibrant!

Tip: I normally mix stripes with another pattern, normally of a different color. I also normally will mix one basic color like black, gray or white with something more colorful, just to keep some balance. Mix away and break the rules!

With a collar/dress

(ft. my backyard haha)

This look combines two great neck scarf looks in one! They’re the perfect addition to your favorite flowy, girly dress, AND they also go perfect with collared shirts for a more preppy vibe. Or just be like me and combine them both.

…Or wherever else you can think of!

As a belt

scarf: Target

As modeled once again by the STUNNING Mikayla, if you have a scarf that seems a little too long for your basic neck scarf, try it as a belt in your favorite pair of jeans or other bottoms. I love to throw one together with a sweater or shirt and my favorite thrifted mom jeans.

As it gets warmer, you can also pair a scarf with a denim skirt or even shorts!

Through a belt loop

I was reaaally excited to share this one with y’all! I just think it’s so versatile and easy to make work with pretty much any outfit! Simply tie your scarf to a belt loop, add a little tuck in the front, and you’re good to go!

This look is perfect if you have a scarf that is too short to wear around the waist!

On your bag

Bring a pop of color to your favorite bag! Simply tie a scarf to the handle for a cute and trendy accessory to your accessory!

Ok, now I know what you’re thinking:

“I LOVE this article, but where do I FIND one of these scarves?!!??” Below, I linked some of my favorites!
