“Give me five good things that happened today.”
Whenever I’m upset or overreacting about something, this is often Wes’s response to me.
Think of five good things.
It’s really simple, but I’ve also found, really useful to train our minds to focus and dwell on the good rather than the bad. It was so useful for me that somewhere along the way, I started writing my “5 good things” in my journal every night before I go to sleep.
So today, in light of all the things, I want to offer you the same challenge.
And to help you do so, and hopefully to make you smile, I’ve looked through past journal entries and included a randomly compiled list of some good things that have happened to me over the past few days/weeks/months.

The news was not as scary today. (THIS DAY WILL COME AGAIN PEOPLE)
My professor mentioned the drive-in in my hometown today during class and I felt seen.
The new HSM show is really good.
I made a yummy vegetarian quesadilla.
Today someone told me they read my blog!
puppy guy wasn’t sketchy (lol).
Coffee with Wes x2 ?!
9 hours of sleep.
I have an Aggie ring now!
My room is clean.
Noelle was a really good movie, and I had a sweet time with my PG girls.
Me and Wes had a good talk tonight.
I didn’t eat out even though I wanted to.
My boss shared my blog post today on Facebook.
(this one is crazy to look back on now and is proof that The Lord is working even when we do not see! More on that another time.)
I’m not too stressed right now.
I successfully recreated the gnocchi soup from camp!
I hugged Wes today. (this one is a repeat, I really like hugging Wes what can I say).
Took my last final, and am now watching Hannah Montana to reward myself.

We surprised Mom with an Apple Watch today and everyone felt loved today.
Watched the new Little Women movie and it was SO GOOD and I have a lot of feelings about it (I still do lol).

I ordered my books for school and am really excited to read them all because I am a #nerd.
My new Madewell pants came in today and I love them.
An afternoon in a coffee shop & good time with the Lord.

The people in my life are so kind and encouraging even when I am not.
Read little women to calm my (hopefully irrational) fears about the coronavirus in China.
It felt calming to be prayed over today.
My professor wrote such a sweet letter of recommendation.
A good phone call with Kendall.
